Pedestrian disruptions on Paul Street and Jane Street (Picton) April 23 and 24

April 22, 2026

First General Contractors will be completing exterior building work at 20 Paul Street in Picton on Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24.

  • The work will take place between 7 am and 7 pm both days.
  • Due to installation of scaffolding that will partially encroach onto the sidewalk, temporary pedestrian pathway adjustments may be required. Onsite personnel will be present to assist and safely guide pedestrians around the work zone.
  • Pedestrian disruptions will also occur on the sidewalk adjacent to the work area on Jane Street.
  • Pedestrians are asked to approach the site with caution or avoid the construction area if possible.
  • Heavy equipment will limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work.

The municipality reminds the public about the importance of meeting all permit requirements before undertaking work within the municipal road allowance. Permits help ensure that work within the municipal road allowance is completed safely, properly, and without damage to public infrastructure. They also allow the municipality to coordinate work, minimize disruptions, and protect the safety of all road users.

In addition, a road occupancy permit is required for temporary use or occupation of municipal property, even if no digging or construction is involved.
