Residents and visitors to Prince Edward County are advised that re-enactors with the: “Gathering of Friends Rendezvous” will be firing muskets and a canon at the Ameliasburgh Heritage Village (517 County Road 19) Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17.
- Members of the public may hear noises associated with guns and cannon fire between 10 am and 4 pm each day during the event. The cannon will fire every twenty minutes on Saturday, May 16 from 12 pm – 1 pm.
- The cannon will be set up near the welcome building. To gather safely, the public is encouraged to assemble near the entrance to the heritage village circle driveway.
- The re-enactors will not be firing live rounds of ammunition during the event.
- For over 30 years, the Gathering of Friends have come together to re-enact the traditional Loyalist lifestyle. During this three-day event, attendees will experience history firsthand, as reenactors live on-site in canvas tents, showcase period clothing and provide traditional cooking demonstrations.
