The County of Prince Edward will share the plan for restoring the section of Millennium Trail impacted by the Wellington trunk watermain and sanitary sewer project at a public information centre (PIC) next week.
The PIC will take place on Thursday, June 4 from 5 – 7 pm in the Highline Hall at the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street).
Work is taking place on the Millennium Trail between Cleminson Street and Belleville Street. Work on the project is anticipated to be complete by early summer 2026.
At the PIC, the municipality will present and review the restoration plan for the trail. Staff will share details about replacing trees to meet the requirements of the municipality’s Tree Management and Preservation Policy.
The municipality is completing construction of a new trunk watermain and trunk sanitary sewer in Wellington. The new trunks are being constructed from the location of the existing water and wastewater treatments plants to the east along Wellington Main Street, north on Cleminson Street, east along the Millennium Trail and then connect to the new water tower on Belleville Street.
The project also includes a new sanitary pumping station located on the Millennium Trail near the intersection with West Street. This new pumping station is a component of the new trunk sanitary sewer.
