Dredging of the Wellington Channel is set to begin on Monday, September 14.
- Work will commence with equipment mobilization. The dredging portion is set to begin on Monday, September 21 and is anticipated to take two to three weeks to complete.
- This work may limit access to parts of the Wellington Rotary Beach boat launch area; however, the launch remains accessible. Click here for more information and locations of municipal boat launches.
- Some parking areas at the eastern most extent of Beach Street will be closed to support the work.
- The eastern most section of the Wellington Rotary Beach will be closed off due to the construction of temporary dewatering pools.
- The channel itself may be obstructed and inaccessible due to the dredging equipment. Navigation of the channel may be periodically disrupted. Boaters are advised to use caution around the dredging equipment.
- Noise levels may be elevated in the area during the work.
- The public is asked to avoid entering the work areas and maintain a safe distance from equipment.
