The County of Prince Edward municipal offices will be closed on Monday, October 12 for Thanksgiving.
Offices will reopen on Tuesday, October 13 at 8:30 am.
Garbage and recycling collection
- Curbside garbage, green bin, and recycling pickup service will occur according to the regular schedule.
- Environmental 360 Solutions reminds residents to have their garbage, green bin, and properly sorted blue boxes out to the curb by 7 am to ensure pickup.

- Garbage bags must be tightly sealed and weigh no more than 40lbs when filled. All bags must have a visible tag and the full tag must be visible (rolled tags are not acceptable). To review the Waste Management By-law, please click here.
- The municipality’s landfill and transfer stations will be open regular hours on Saturday, October 10. Visit the municipal website for more information.
Recreation Facilities
The Wellington and District Community Centre and the Prince Edward Community Centre will be closed on Monday, October 12.
The walking track at the Wellington and District Community Centre (WDCC) will reopen on Tuesday, October 13 at 7 am.
Reminder: The walking track at the WDCC is operating on its ice season schedule of 7 am – 9 pm daily (except during paid admission events).

The County Museums
The County Museums will have varying operational hours on Thanksgiving weekend:
- The Scarecrow Festival will take place at Macaulay Heritage Park on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11 from 11 am – 4 pm. Macaulay Heritage Park will be closed Monday, October 13.
- Ameliasburgh Heritage Village and Wellington Heritage Museum will be open regular operating hours Saturday, October 10 from 1 pm – 4 pm. Both sites will be closed on Sunday and Monday.
County Transit
County Transit will not operate on Monday, October 12.
