The County of Prince Edward has received a minor variance application to adjust the definition of “Value-Added Farm Use” as to permit a business selling produce and prepared food products as a Value-Added Farm Use without agriculture being the primary use of the property at 42 Murphy Road. The amended definition for this property is proposed to read  “any activity or process that is completed by the property owner, which alters the original product or commodity grown on site and may be supplemented by inputs sourced from other locations, and may include, but is not limited to, grain drying and milling, bioproduct production, pre-cutting, cooking and baking activities.“
