Registered Nurse (part-time) – Existing Vacancy

H.J. McFarland Memorial Home in idyllic Prince Edward County is currently accepting applications from Registered Nurses for two (2) permanent part-time positions. Reporting to the Director of Care, this position is responsible for providing quality life care that encompasses the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of all of our residents, in alignment with our Mission, Vision and Values statement.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US
•An interest in our evening shifts from 1400 – 2200 hours and night shifts from 2200 – 0600 hours. In return we offer healthy premium payments on top of your regular hourly rate!
•Successful completion of post-secondary education in the designated nursing field with a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
•Prior experience working in a long-term care facility.
•Ability to work within legislated standards and guidelines.
•Excellent written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to exercise respect, tact, diplomacy and good judgement with residents and staff.
•Knowledge and training under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
•Proof of a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening Check dated within the last six months, and proof of a two-step tuberculin skin test within the last six months.

WHAT WE PROVIDE TO YOU
• $42.00 to $56.95 per hour dependent on a credit for experience check, as per the ONA Collective Agreement
• $12,500 from Ontario Health if you qualify and commit to H.J. McFarland for 24-months (see below for details)
•Paid meal breaks
•13% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation on top of your regular hourly rate
• Premium payments: $2.25 added to your hourly rate for evening shifts, $2.98 per hour for night shifts, and $3.14 per hour for weekend shifts
•Time to build seniority before our new 164-bed facility opens in 2027 and staffing increases!
