Registered Practical Nurse (permanent full-time, temporary full-time, and permanent part-time) - Existing Vacancy

H.J. McFarland Memorial Home in idyllic Prince Edward County is currently accepting applications from Registered Practical Nurses for permanent full-time, temporary full-time, and permanent part-time positions. Reporting to the Director of Care, this position is responsible for providing quality life care that encompasses the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of all of our residents, in alignment with our Mission, Vision and Values statement.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US

  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in the designated nursing field with a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Prior experience working in a long-term care facility.
  • Ability to work within legislated standards and guidelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise respect, tact, diplomacy and good judgement with residents and staff.
  • Knowledge and training under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Proof of a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening Check dated within the last six months, and proof of a two-step tuberculin skin test within the last six months.

WHAT WE PROVIDE TO YOU

  • $29.60 to $30.73 per hour as per the UNIFOR Local 8300 Collective Agreement
  • $12,500 (for part-time) and $25,000 (for full-time) from Ontario Health if you qualify and commit to H.J. McFarland for 24-months (see below for details).
