Answer the Call: Become a Prince Edward County Volunteer Firefighter

September 4, 2024

Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue (PECFR) is encouraging County residents over the age of 18 to “answer the call” and become a volunteer firefighter.

Volunteer firefighters are the unsung heroes of our community. Their commitment strengthens relationships within Prince Edward County, enhances safety, and ensures that help is always near. By becoming a volunteer firefighter, you’re not just filling a role; you’re becoming a beacon of hope and resilience for your neighbours, making a profound difference every single day.

Volunteer firefighters are summoned to a wide array of emergencies including fires, emergency medical incidents, vehicle accidents, water rescue emergencies and more. These dedicated individuals juggle their personal and professional lives to answer the call of duty, providing essential fire and emergency services where resources are limited.
