Apply now to serve on an advisory committee or working group

The County is looking to attract a diverse range of dedicated community volunteers to serve on the following advisory committees and working group:

  • Accessibility Advisory Committee: suitable for someone with an understanding of the social and environmental impact of accessibility on our community.
  • Agriculture Advisory Committee (youth positions only): suitable for someone who has knowledge about agricultural matters and/or has a passion for protecting rural and agricultural lands and enhancing the viability of agriculture in Prince Edward County.
  • Audit Committee: suitable for someone who is financially literate and has the skills to interpret complex financial information
  • Built and Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee (Adult & Youth): suitable for someone with an understanding of conservation of cultural heritage values or interests, as well as cemeteries.
  • Traffic Advisory Committee (youth position only): suitable for someone with knowledge of the County’s road network, active transportation and/or traffic trends.
  • Ward Recreation Committees (opportunities available for multiple wards): suitable for someone who has a passion for bringing their ward together and/or has party planning experience.
  • Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) Education & Outreach Working Group: suitable for someone who has an interest in public outreach and engagement channels to support the Environmental Advisory Committee’s initiatives.

Recruitment for Ward Recreation Committees and Youth-Positions (ages 16-25) remain ongoing.

Becoming a member of a citizen committee or working group offers residents a unique chance to volunteer their highly valued skills and knowledge to strengthen our shared sense of community.

To be eligible to serve on a committee, applicants must be:

  • a Canadian citizen, or permanent resident living in Prince Edward County; or
  • a property or business owner in the County of Prince Edward;
  • a minimum of 16 years of age or older.
  • There may be additional eligibility requirements required by legislation for membership, which are outlined in the terms of reference.
