Construction on Elm and Mary Streets (Picton) May 6 – 7

The Water and Wastewater Department will be working with contractors to conduct repairs/replacement of sanitary sewer laterals on Mary Street and Elm Street in Picton.

  • Work will take place on Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7 between approximately 7 am and 7 pm.
  • Mary Street, between Bowery Street and Elizabeth Street, will be reduced to one lane of traffic. Traffic control will be in place.
  • Elm Street, between Paul Street and Centre Street, will be closed. Local traffic only will be permitted. Traffic control will be in place.
  • Motorists are asked to avoid the construction areas and travel alternate routes if possible.
  • Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
  • These repairs are not expected to impact water quality or sanitary sewer service. Should coloured water be experienced due to vibrations from construction, customers are encouraged to flush the cold water tap closest to the water meter until water runs clear once work is complete.
