County hosts tree seedling giveaway in celebration of Earth Day

April 25, 2023

The County of Prince Edward is hosting a tree seedling giveaway in celebration of Earth Day.

The giveaway will occur on Saturday, April 29 from 8 am – 1 pm at the following locations (while supplies last):

  • Delhi Park (Lalor Street, Picton) next to the community gardens
  • Wellington and District Community Centre rear parking lot (111 Belleville Street, Wellington)
  • Roblin Lake Garage, 13 Coleman Street, Ameliasburgh, next to the public works garage

The seedlings have been purchased from Quinte Conservation and Pine Needle Farms and will be available to County residents free of charge. Click here for a list of the tree species that will be offered through the event.

The County would like to give a special thanks to volunteers from Tree the County and youth from the ROC for helping out with this year’s giveaway.

Visit the Sustainability Hub on the County website for more information about the tree seedling giveaway and other events planned for this year’s Earth Day. If you are interested in participating, or would like more information, contact Albert Paschkowiak, Environmental Services and Sustainability Supervisor, at apaschkowiak@pecounty.on.ca or call 613.476.2148 extension 4004.
