Municipality extends County Road 49 construction to seven days a week

September 18, 2026

Construction work on County Road 49 will occur on weekends beginning Saturday, September 19.

To make sure the planned road work is completed this year, the municipality has scheduled construction seven days a week. The additional workdays will help the contractor finish breaking up the existing road and paving the first two layers of asphalt before the construction season ends. The contractor will install the third and final layer of asphalt in 2027 as originally planned.

The project contractor experienced delays securing the specialized equipment due to work visa issues. Work to break up the existing concrete road into granular material began on September 8, about a month later than originally planned.

The County thanks residents, businesses, and motorists for their continued patience and cooperation as this important infrastructure improvement project moves forward.
