Crosswalk line painting to take place overnight October 16 in Picton and Wellington

October 16, 2025

The County of Prince Edward is committed to recognizing the service, contributions and sacrifices of our veterans and those who serve in the Canadian Armed Forces. Commemorative crosswalks will be painted overnight on Thursday, October 16 to honour Indigenous Veteran’s Day (November 8) and Remembrance Day (November 11).

  • The following crosswalks will be painted:
    • Picton: Ferguson Street by the Cenotaph
    • Wellington: Main Street by the Cenotaph
  • The painting of the crosswalks may cause traffic delays for the duration of the work.
  • Pedestrians and motorists are asked to approach the sites with caution.
  • On November 12, 2024, Council passed a motion authorizing staff to take the necessary actions to implement the Remembrance Day “Lest We Forget” commemorative crosswalk installations.
  • The Consecon Commemorative Crosswalk located at Squires Street and County Road 29 has recently been installed as part of this motion.
