Deadline to apply for an advisory board or committee extended to Sunday, January 22 at 11:59 pm

January 19, 2023

Community members interested in serving on a County advisory board or committee still have time to apply.

The deadline to submit an application for a County advisory board or committee has been extended to Sunday, January 22 at 11:59 pm.

The municipality is recruiting for 11 advisory boards and committees as well as nine ward recreation committees. All committees and boards are still accepting applications; however, more applicants are needed for the Accessibility Advisory Committee, Fence Viewers Committee, and the Built & Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee.

Members of the public over 16 years of age are encouraged to apply. Participating on an advisory board or committee provides a unique opportunity to:

  • Lend your voice and expertise to help shape decisions and services that impact our community;
  • Expand your network and meet new people;
  • Gain a broader understanding of how municipal government works.

“Sitting on a local advisory committee and board provides a unique opportunity to provide input on matters that directly impact our community,” Clerk Catalina Blumenberg says. “We are looking for volunteers who represent the diversity in our community to lend your skills and expertise to help make a difference.”

Advisory boards and committees provide Council and staff with input about a wide variety of subjects through discussions, presentations and recommendations. Some committees also organize and participate in community events.

Visit the County website to learn more about each committee and its terms of reference.

Any permanent resident, property owner, or business owner in Prince Edward County who is 16 years of age or older is eligible to apply for most committees. There may be additional eligibility requirements required by legislation for membership, which is outlined in the terms of reference.

You can apply online through the County website. A hard copy of the application form will also be available at the following locations:

Apply by 11:59 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2023 and help make a difference in our community! If you have questions, contact the Clerk’s Office at 613.476.2148 extension 1020 or email clerks@pecounty.on.ca.
