Final report for Picton Transportation Master Plan Amendment now available for review

November 14, 2024

November 14, 2024

The final report for the Picton Transportation Master Plan (TMP) Amendment is available for review and comment.

The deadline to provide feedback is Friday, December 13. Click here to view the report and the supporting documentation.

The transportation improvements recommended as part of the TMP Amendment for the Picton Settlement Area include:

  • Expanded cycling network and new multi-modal transportation hubs
  • Enhanced pedestrian network and Millennium Trail roadway crossings
  • Extension of George Wright Boulevard/County Road 22
  • Implementation of a designated preferred truck route
  • Various intersection improvements

The municipality completed a County-wide TMP in 2021. The municipality undertook an amendment of the TMP for the Picton Settlement Area due to a higher level of growth projected within the study area, beyond what was assumed as part of the 2021 TMP.

Public consultation has been an important part of the TMP. The first PCC was held on December 12, 2023 where the municipality introduced the study. The second PCC was held on April 3, 2024 to present and gather feedback on preliminary findings of the technical and environmental studies and preliminary alternative solutions. A third PCC occurred on July 16, 2024 to present and gather feedback on the evaluation of alternative solutions and recommended solutions. Visit the County website to learn more about this study.

If you want to provide comments on the report, please contact Jeff Shortt, Project Manager, at 613.476.2148 extension 1007 or email jshortt@pecounty.on.ca.
