Information meeting for proposed Base31 (Picton) Subdivisions on November 19

November 6, 2024

November 6, 2024

PEC Community Partners will hold a public information meeting for two development proposals at Base31 on Tuesday, November 19.

The meeting will take place from 6 – 8 pm at the Sergeants Mess Hall at Base31 (7-343 County Road 22, Picton). The presentation will begin at 6:30 pm.

The subject lands for the Draft Plan of Subdivision (13-T-24-504) are located north of Kingsley Road and east of Church Street. The proposal is for a mixed-use development comprised of:

  • 244 single-detached lots with frontages ranging from 9.2 metres to 13.4 metres,
  • 171 townhouse units consisting of frontages of both 6.1 metres and 7.62 metres
  • 66 stacked townhouse units with frontage of 9.75 metres.
  • In addition, two blocks are designated for higher density condo/apartment purposes with a total area of 3.06 hectares.

The total number of units for the entirety of the Draft Plan of Subdivision 13-T-24-504 is yet to be determined, as the number of units within the high-density blocks will be finalized through detailed Site Plan Approval submissions in the future.

The subject lands for the other Draft Plan of Subdivision (13-T-24-505) are located to the east and west of County Road 22. The Draft Plan of Subdivision is comprised of three blocks with proposed land uses of mixed-use (residential and commercial), road widenings, and stormwater infrastructure.

This public meeting is an information meeting only. Public information meetings are held as part of the updated planning application process.

At a public information meeting, the proponent/agent will present the proposal. If any member of the public would like to ask questions or make comments, they will be able to do so after the presentation.

The statutory public meeting required under the Planning Act will be a Planning Committee meeting and would only be held after the public information meeting and when the assigned County planner has completed an analysis of the project.

If you have any questions regarding the format of the public meeting, please contact Chris Sellors, Applications and Logistics Coordinator, at csellors@pecounty.on.ca.

Materials for both applications can be viewed on the municipal website. https://www.thecounty.ca/13-t-24-504-base-31-subdivision/ and https://www.thecounty.ca/13-t-24-505-base-31-block-draft-plan/
