Municipal offices closed February 16 for Family Day

February 9, 2026

The County of Prince Edward municipal offices will be closed on Monday, February 16 for the Family Day long weekend.

Offices will reopen on Tuesday, February 17 at 8:30 am.

Garbage and recycling collection

  • Curbside garbage, green bin, and recycling pickup service will occur according to the regular schedule.
  • Environmental 360 Solutions reminds residents to have their garbage, green bin, and properly sorted blue boxes out to the curb by 7 am to ensure pickup. If your collection is missed on collection day, please call 1.866.358.3560.
  • The County’s landfill and transfer stations will be open regular hours on Saturday, February 14. Visit The County website for more information.

Free Family Day Activities

Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street)

  • Public skating will take place from 9 am – 3 pm
  • Highline Hall activities from 9 am – 3 pm:
    • Games, reading programs and free books
    • Visit interactive activity booths for families
    • Free soup and chili inside Highline Hall from 11 am – 1 pm
    • A hot chocolate booth

Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street)

  • Public skating will take place from 9 am – 3 pm
  • Rotary Hall activities from 9 am – 3 pm:
    • Visit interactive activity booths for families
    • Games and craft stations
    • A button making session

Recreation Facilities

The Wellington and District Community Centre (WDCC) and the Prince Edward Community Centre (PECC) will be open regular hours throughout the holiday weekend.

Public skating is available on the following dates and times over the weekend:

  • WDCC (111 Belleville Street, Wellington):
    • Saturday, February 14: 12:30 pm – 2 pm
    • Sunday, February 15: 8 am – 9 am
    • Monday, February 16: 9 am – 3 pm
  • PECC (375 Picton Main Street):
    • Saturday, February 14: 6 pm – 8 pm
    • Sunday, February 15: 12:30 pm – 2 pm
    • Monday, February 16: 9 am – 3 pm

County Transit

County Transit will not operate on Monday, February 16.
