Municipal offices closed February 21 for Family Day

The County of Prince Edward municipal offices will be closed on Monday, February 21 for the Family Day long weekend.

Offices at the Edward Building (280 Picton Main Street) will reopen with drop-in service on Tuesday, February 22 at 8:30 am.

Garbage and recycling collection

  • Recycling collection will occur on Monday, February 21 according to the regular schedule.
  • Curbside garbage, green bin, and recycling pickup service will not be impacted the remainder of the week (February 22-25).
  • Environmental 360 Solutions and Quinte Waste Services remind residents to have their garbage, green bin, and properly sorted blue boxes out to the curb by 7 am to ensure pickup. Click here to view the recycling and garbage collection schedules.
  • The County’s landfill and transfer stations will be open regular hours on Saturday, February 19. Visit The County website for more information.

Recreation Facilities

The Wellington and District Community Centre (WDCC) and the Prince Edward Community Centre (PECC) will be open during the long weekend.

Public skating is available on the following dates and times this weekend:

  • WDCC (111 Belleville Street, Wellington): Sunday, February 20, 8 – 9:30 am; Monday, February 21, 9 – 11 am
  • PECC (375 Picton Main Street): Sunday, February 20, 1 – 2:30 pm; Monday, February 21, noon – 2 pm

The walking track at the WDCC will be open from 8 am until 3 pm continuously throughout the long weekend with a capacity of 20 walkers at any one time.

A special pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic will take place at the PECC on Family Day from noon until 4 pm. Learn more
