Municipality offers housing workshops this winter

The County of Prince Edward will host a series of four free workshops on the topic of rental housing.

The municipality will be working with local partners to ensure that tenants and property owners receive as much information as possible and can access support programs.

The series of free winter workshops include:

  • Tenant fundamentals: Picton Town Hall, January 29, 2 – 3:30 pm.
    Learn about your rights as a tenant.
  • Eviction prevention for tenants: Picton Town Hall, February 12, 2 – 3:30 pm.
    Know your rights as a tenant and understand what your landlord can and cannot do. Access resources for preventing eviction.
  • Eviction prevention for property owners: Virtual, February 26, 2 – 3:30 pm.
    Learn how to choose the right tenants for you and how to create a mediated agreement to resolve issues.
  • Housing for new immigrant residents: Virtual, March 12, 10 am – 12 pm.
    This session is designed for immigrants and Canadians from other regions who are new to Prince Edward County and looking to learn about housing in the area.
