Owen Jones Memorial Clean-up returns April 26

April 15, 2025

The annual Owen Jones Memorial Clean-up is scheduled for Saturday, April 26.

The County is partnering with community leaders to host the clean-up. This year the event will be held in support of the Quinte Trash Bash, which is a series of clean-ups taking place in neighbouring municipalities across the Quinte region.

Residents who are interested in participating alone or in a group in Prince Edward County can register by contacting Evan Nash at evannash@gmail.com or via this form.

Supplies, including gloves and bags, are now available at 115 Lake Street in Picton and at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street). Waste collected on the day of the clean-up can be dropped off at the following locations free of charge:

  • Picton Home Hardware (13544 Loyalist Parkway)
  • Midtown Brewery parking lot (266 Wellington Main Street)
  • 15 Coleman Street (Ameliasburgh), next to the works garage
  • 2179 County Road 17 (Milford), in front of the fairgrounds

Participants are encouraged to send a photo of your group participating in the cleanup to communications@pecounty.on.ca or tag the County of Prince Edward on Facebook and Instagram for a chance to win prizes.

The community clean-up is one of several events being held as part of the Earth Day celebrations this year. Staff and community partners have prepared exciting events and activities throughout the days leading up to and surrounding Earth Day.  Visit the Sustainability Hub on the County website for more information about these events.  If you are interested in hosting your own community clean-up, check out the County’s website.

If you require further information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 ext. 1023, 613.962.9108 ext. 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca
