Picton Main Street accessible for local traffic between Johnson Street and Bay Street beginning September 8

September 7, 2023

September 7, 2023

Picton Main Street between Johnson Street and Bay Street will open for local traffic on Friday, September 8.

This change will allow the public to access the Picton Fairgrounds via Picton Main Street.

  • The detour route for non-local traffic still remains in place. Drivers must go around the construction site using Johnson Street, Macsteven Drive, and McFarand Drive.
  • Motorists should obey the local-traffic-only signage at the construction site on Picton Main Street. Local traffic refers to motorists who live in the neighbourhood or are travelling to that location for a purpose. This encompasses Spencer Street and Hill Street, as well as Broad Street, Bay Street, Fairfield Street, Division Street and Bokus Street.
  • Prince Edward OPP are patrolling the area to ensure motorists are abiding by the signage and following the directed detour routes from McFarland Drive to Johnson Street.
  • Click here to view the detour route.
  • For more information about the Picton Main Street reconstruction project, visit the County website or contact the County at 613.476.2148 ext. 1023, 613.962.9108 ext. 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca.
