Picton Town Hill intersection improvements study available for review

December 6, 2024

December 6, 2024

The County of Prince Edward has completed the Picton Town Hill intersection improvements study.

The initial preferred solution — which was presented at the second Public Consultation Centre in October 2023 — has been revised based on extensive public feedback received during the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment and a consideration of all technical requirements. Instead of a roundabout, the recommended plan now features a signalized intersection with a northbound receiving lane.

The Picton Town Hill study was conducted as a Schedule B Environmental Assessment Study under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA, 2023). The MCEA is a provincial document that sets out the process for how municipal infrastructure projects are planned and evaluated. The municipality must follow this process under Ontario’s Environmental Assessment Act.

A Public Consultation Centre (PCC) for the Picton Town Hill study was held on May 18, 2023 where the municipality introduced the study. The second PCC was held on October 4, 2023.

The deadline to provide feedback is Wednesday, January 8. Visit the project webpage to view the report and documents. Click here to read the full Notice of Study Completion.

If you wish to provide feedback, please contact Jeff Shortt, Project Manager, at 613.476.2148 extension 1007 or email jshortt@pecounty.on.ca.
