Sanitary sewer flushing in Picton August 1

July 31, 2025

 The County of Prince Edward will be conducting sanitary sewer flushing in Picton on Friday, August 1.

  • The flushing will take place on Picton Main Street from the intersection of Cold Storage Road to Lake Street in the in the Picton Wastewater Collection System between 7 am and 5 pm.
  • Sanitary sewer mains will be flushed using high pressure water and a vacuum truck to remove debris from the sanitary sewer system.
  • Flushing will be conducted to maintain proper operation, prevent blockages, and remove debris that can collect in the collection system. Flushing will not be conducted on private sanitary laterals.
  • Customers in the immediate area of the sanitary sewer flushing are asked to keep toilet seats closed on first floors and basement levels of dwellings. Splashing/bubbling may occur intermittently as sewer mains are flushed.
  • Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the flushing area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of work.
