Section of Bethesda Road closed October 15 – 17 for habitat restoration project

October 15, 2025

The County of Prince Edward is partnering with the Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) to convert an unused road allowance into a pollinator friendly corridor.

The Canadian Wildlife Federation partners with organizations in Ontario to provide funding and expertise to habitat restoration projects. The goal of this program is to conserve the habitat of monarch butterflies and to provide additional feeding and nesting habitat for hundreds of other pollinators and meadow species.

County staff will be implementing a CWF grant at the intersection of Bethesda Road and Fry Road from Wednesday, October 15 to Friday, October 31.

The project includes the planting of native pollinator friendly plants along the right of ways at the intersection of Bethesda Road and Fry Road. The work will include some clearing of sight lines as well as removal of some invasive species.

  • The section of Bethesda Road connecting to Fry Road will be closed from Wednesday, October 15 to Friday, October 17 to allow for access to these areas. View the map.
  • Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work.
  • Motorists are asked to approach the site with caution or avoid the work area.
