Several COVID-19 vaccine clinics planned throughout January in Picton

January 6, 2022

As cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in the community, Country residents can protect themselves from the worst effects of the virus by getting the vaccine.

The municipality and community partners are making it easy for residents to get the jab right here in Prince Edward County throughout January. Clinics will take place at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street) on the following dates for individuals 12 years of age or older who need to get their first, second or, if you are immunocompromised, your third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. If you are 18 years of age and older you can get a booster if it has been more than three months since your last shot.

  • Saturday, January 8 – 9 am – 9 pm
  • Monday, January 10 – 1-7pm
  • Thursday, January 13 –10 am – 4 pm
  • Monday, January 17 – 1-7 pm
  • Thursday, January 20 – 10 am – 4 pm
  • Monday, January 24 – 1-7 pm

For these clinics you must book an appointment in advance through the online provincial portal or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1.833.943.3900.

If Picton clinics do not appear on the online provincial booking portal, it is because the clinics are fully booked. Check back regularly as appointments may open up. And if you have booked an appointment but already received your booster, please cancel your appointment so someone else can book that space.

Targeted clinics for youth and front-line workers on January 8

Clinics aimed at vaccinating youth aged 5-11 as well as workers in front-line businesses such as grocery stores, retailers and restaurants are scheduled for Saturday, January 8.

The youth clinic will take place from 10:30 am until 1:30 pm at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street, Picton). Appointments must be booked through the online provincial portal or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1.833.943.3900.

The County is hosting a special COVID-19 vaccine clinic for workers in front-line businesses such as grocery stores, retailers and restaurants from 3-9 pm at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street, Picton). Advance registration is required to attend this special clinic. To register, a business owner or representative must call 613.476.2148 extension 5003 or 5004. The business owner should be prepared to give the names of the staff who wish to attend the clinic and to highlight any staff who are under the age of 30 for the purposes of managing vaccine supply. Visit the County website to learn more.

You can also book an appointment at the clinic in Belleville (Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre Gym, 265 Cannifton Road, Belleville) through the provincial online booking portal or the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre.
