This year we again welcome Indigenous artists back to Macaulay Heritage Park for the seventh Art Show and Sale.
Hope springs eternal, and during times of stress and change, it is amazing to see how the human spirit can rise to give expression to life in all its established and experimental forms.
Artistic creations in oils, watercolours, acrylics, pen and ink, and mixed media, will join the carving and sculpted forms of bone, antler, and stone. A new element has been added this year with a design portion specializing in fabric and leather.
As an added feature, the Art and Design show is bringing in a guest Mohawk artist who specializes in faces and the human form. Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered who that person was looking back at you? When you look at the faces he paints, your mind will suddenly become filled with questions that may expand your understanding and even lead to an epiphany.
Come join us this summer, in an artistic adventure.
(As written by show curator and participating artist, Narda Kathaleen Julg.)
This year’s guest artist is D. Ahsén:nase Douglas.
Admission to the show is free. Donations to the museum are welcome.
