Canada Day at The Picton Fairgrounds

Celebrate Canada Day at the Picton Fairgrounds with a fun-filled afternoon of family activities, games, art and play! This is a rain or shine event!

Getting there:

  • We encourage you to walk, bike or take the FREE County Transit shuttle from Wellington or Bloomfield.
  • Vehicle entry to the Picton Fairgrounds will be through the MacSteven Drive entrance. The Main Street entrance will be closed to vehicles.

Get ready for fun:

  • Bring a refillable water bottle. This is a bottled-water-free event.
  • BYO picnics are welcome! The BBQ will be free while supplies last and the Picton Library Expansion fundraising concession stand (cash only!) will be open throughout with light snacks.
  • Download the Come Alive Outside “Mile A Day” app and log your first mile on the fun walking trail.
  • Dress for the weather and don’t forget your sunscreen!
  • Bring your bikes, scooters and bathing suits to enjoy the skate park and splash pad.
  • Head into town before or after to shop the Picton BIA sidewalk sale, or drop into the Regent Theatre and enjoy free, popular, Canadian films!

Event schedule:

  • 12:15 – Opening ceremonies with cupcakes, speeches and O, Canada! in the Crystal Palace
  • 12:00 – 2:00 – Bookmark weaving craft and demo with the Baxter Arts Centre in the Bluebird Building
  • 12:30 – 4:00 – Live music in the Crystal Palace featuring Roper and Roper, Caleb Hutton and Mark Despault
  • 1:00 – 4:00 – Airbrush tattoos and balloon twisting on the lawn
  • 2:00 – 4:00 – Paint pouring activity with the Baxter Arts Centre in the Bluebird Building (register at the Bluebird Building in advance)

All other activities are open 12-4pm
