Speaker: Mike Trites, In the Key of Blue

Playwright and director Mike Trites joins us to share the remarkable story of how his new musical, In the Key of Blue, went from an idea he started writing in 2017 to a full-scale production premiering in Prince Edward County in July 2026. Featuring the iconic music of Blue Rodeo, the show follows a young musician chasing fame while navigating the highs and lows of trust, ambition, and reinvention — all set to some of Canada’s most beloved songs. Whether you’re a creative entrepreneur, a collaborator looking to build something new, or someone curious about how big ideas become real, Mike’s behind the scenes look at launching an original Canadian musical will be inspiring, candid, and full of hard won insights.
