Municipal offices closed
May 19

The County of Prince Edward municipal offices will be closed on Monday, May 19 for the Victoria Day holiday.
Offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 20 at 8:30 am.
Garbage and recycling collection

- Regular garbage, green bin, and recycling collection will occur on Monday, May 19 with no interruptions.
- Environmental 360 Solutions and Quinte Waste Services remind residents to have their garbage, green bin, and properly sorted blue box out to the curb by 7 am to ensure pickup.
- The municipality’s landfill and transfer stations will be open regular hours on Saturday, May 17. Visit The County website for more information. Beginning on Wednesday, June 18, Wellington, Sophiasburgh and Picton sites will also be open on Wednesdays for both waste and recycling collection. Separate bins will be available to accommodate industrial, commercial and institutional property owners who will be responsible for the disposal of their recycling after July 17, 2025. Learn more.
Recreation Centres
The Wellington and District Community Centre and the Prince Edward Community Centre will be closed on Monday, May 19.
The walking track at the Wellington and District Community Centre (WDCC) will reopen on Tuesday, May 20 at 7 am.
Reminder: the walking track at the WDCC is currently operating on its summer schedule of Monday- Friday, 7 am – 3 pm.
The County Museums
All five museums will be re-opening on Friday, May 16 after the annual reset to bring in new exhibits and programming.
Summer hours are as follows:

Wednesday to Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm
- Mariners Park Museum (2065 County Road 13, South Bay)
Friday to Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm
- Macaulay Heritage Park (23 & 35 Church Street, Picton)
Wednesday to Sunday 10 am – 4 pm
- Rose House Museum (3333 County Road 8, Waupoos)
Friday to Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm
- Wellington Heritage Museum (290 Main Street, Wellington)
Wednesday to Sunday 10 am – 4 pm
Residents and visitors to Prince Edward County are reminded that re-enactors with the: “Gathering of Friends Rendezvous” will be firing muskets and a canon at the Ameliasburgh Heritage Village Friday, May 16 to Sunday, May 18.
Members of the public may hear noises associated with guns and cannon fire between 10 am and 4 pm each day during the event. The re-enactors will not be firing live rounds of ammunition during the event.
County Transit
County Transit will not operate on Monday, May 19.
