In 2022, County Council passed a motion to enter into a partnership agreement with the Prince Edward County Pickleball Committee. The motion also approved making the pickleball courts a project of community interest.

In 2024, County Council passed a motion confirming Delhi Park as the site for the proposed pickleball courts. In that motion, Council directed staff to continue working with the Prince Edward County Pickleball Committee on the orientation, design, communication, budget for the proposed courts.

The remaining funds will come from the Parkland Reserve Fund, a municipal reserve fund generated by developers who pay cash in lieu of dedicating actual land for public parks in their new developments.

Any additional funds required for the project will be funded through donations and grants.
