Home / OPA 04-24 Official Plan Amendment – Shore Land Designation
The County of Prince Edward is proposing Amendment No. 8 to the municipality’s Official Plan.
The purpose of Amendment No. 8 is to redesignate areas of the Shore Land designation (as shown on Schedule A of the Official Plan) to Rural or Agricultural where there is overlap with Natural Features and Areas (as shown on Schedule B of the Official Plan).
Technical circulation
The effect of the amendment will be to change the principle of development in order to better protect natural features and areas. Certain uses permitted in the Shore Land designation have a greater potential for adverse impacts on natural environment features such as wetlands, significant woodlands, and escarpments.
The Planning and Development Committee will meet its requirements for holding a public meeting for this Official Plan amendment on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
The meeting will begin at 6 pm at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street, Picton).
