Quinte Conservation is seeking public input as it completes a study to update the Marsh and Macaulay Creek floodplain mapping.
A public information centre will take place on Thursday, December 11 from 5 – 7:30 pm at the Picton Town Hall (2 Ross Street, Picton). Attendees can learn more about the study, speak with Quinte Conservation staff and project consultants, and offer their feedback.
The updated mapping will help to better inform future development decisions, land use planning, and flood mitigation strategies in the region.
The last floodplain mapping for Marsh Creek was developed in 1981. Mapping updates will reflect changes in land use and climate data. Using advanced tools, the study aims to accurately indicate flood-prone areas and provide a clearer understanding of flooding hazards during various storm events.
