The County of Prince Edward is asking for public feedback on proposed new planning and building fees.
The planning fee structure has not been updated in nearly 10 years, while the building permit fees have not changed since 2002. Staff are proposing an increase in the fees so that they reflect the true cost of delivering the services and to ensure the County can maintain its service level.
Visit the Have Your Say page for more information about the proposed planning fee structure. A discussion forum is available where participants can leave their comments and feedback. Comments will close at 4 pm on Friday, April 23.
The Have Your Say page for building permit fees is also available. In addition, The County is required under the Ontario Building Act to hold a statutory public meeting if considering changes to the building permit fees. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 5 at 6 pm. The meeting will be virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions. If you wish to make a comment at the public meeting, please email aharrison@pecounty.on.ca by noon on Tuesday, May 4.
Staff will take the public feedback into consideration as they finalize the new fees. The planning and building permit fees will be included in a report on fees and charges that Council will consider at its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 25.
