Municipal offices closed April 3 & 6 for Easter holiday

The County of Prince Edward municipal offices will be closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6 for the Easter holiday.

Offices will reopen on Tuesday, April 7 at 8:30 am.

Garbage and recycling collection

Garbage, green bin and recycling collection will follow a temporary schedule for the week of March 30.

There will be no collection on Friday, April 3. Regular collection will return on Monday, April 6.

Residents must have their garbage, green bin, and properly sorted blue boxes out to the curb by 7 am to ensure pickup. If your recycling collection is missed on collection day, please call 1.866.358.3560. If your garbage collection is missed, call 613.476.2148 extension 1023. Garbage bags must be tightly sealed and weigh no more than 40lbs when filled. All bags must have a visible tag. To review the Waste Management By-law, please click here.

 

Landfill and transfer stations

The landfill and transfer stations’ operating hours will run as scheduled Saturday, April 4.

Recreation Centres

The Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street) and the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street) will be closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6. Both community centres will operate 7 am – 4 pm on Sunday, April 5.

Public skating is available over the holiday weekend:

Prince Edward Community Centre:

Saturday, April 4: 6 pm – 8 pm

Sunday, April 5: 12:30 pm – 2 pm

Wellington and District Community Centre:

Saturday, April 4: 12:30 pm – 2 pm

Sunday, April 5: 8 am – 9 am

 

The walking track at the Wellington and District Community Centre will reopen as per the regular schedule of 8 am – 8 pm on Tuesday, April 7.

The County Museums

The County Museums will be closed Friday, April 3 and Sunday, April 5.

Visit us on Saturday, April 4 for the Easter Egg Hunt at Ameliasburgh Heritage Village (517 County Road 19, Ameliasburgh). The event is hosted in partnership with the Ameliasburgh Recreation Committee and will take place from 12 pm to 1:30 pm.

  • 12:15 pm: The egg hunt will begin, ending when all eggs are found.
  • 12 pm – 1:30 pm: Visit from Easter Bunny *please bring your own camera for photos
  • The Ameliasburgh Heritage Village museum buildings will not be open during this event, however; bathrooms will be open for public use.

County Transit

County Transit will not operate on Friday, April 3. Regular service will be in place on Monday, April 6.
