Municipal offices closed July 1

June 24, 2025

The County of Prince Edward municipal offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 1 for the Canada Day holiday.

Offices will reopen on Wednesday, July 2 at 8:30 am.

Garbage and recycling collection

  • Curbside garbage, green bin, and recycling pickup service will occur according to the regular schedule.
  • Environmental 360 Solutions and Quinte Waste Services remind residents to have their garbage, green bin, and properly sorted blue boxes out to the curb by 7 am to ensure pickup.
  • The County’s landfill and transfer stations will be open on Saturday, June 28. Visit the municipal website for more information.

Community Centres

The Wellington and District Community Centre and the Prince Edward Community Centre will be closed Tuesday, July 1.

The walking track at the Wellington and District Community Centre will reopen on Wednesday, July 2 and operate on the summer schedule: Monday – Friday, 7 am – 3 pm.

 County Transit

County Transit will not operate on Tuesday, July 1.

PECelebrates

A celebration of community, cultures and Canada, takes place June 21 – July 1 across Prince Edward County. Details about the PECelebrates Festival are available on The County’s website.

Featured events include Pride in the Park, the Wellington Street Dance and Fireworks Show, and Canada Day celebrations in Picton and Wellington.

 

The County Museums

On Monday, June 30 the Wellington Heritage Museum (290 Wellington Main Street) will be opening its doors for a “Special Open Hours” edition of its current exhibit, 100 Years of Wellington, in celebration of Canada Day.

Attendees are invited to share their memories in the community yearbook, learn more about the history of Wellington from 1867-1967, and participate in a family friendly activity in the garden space. Doors are open from 10 am – 4 pm.
