Municipality to host Public Consultation Centre on October 2 for Picton Master Servicing Plan

September 18, 2024

September 18, 2024

The County of Prince Edward will present the preliminary preferred recommendations for infrastructure needs in Picton and Bloomfield at a Public Consultation Centre (PCC) on Wednesday, October 2.

The PCC for the Picton Master Servicing Plan will take place from 6-8 pm at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street).

The PCC will follow an open-house format. Project team representatives and County Staff will be available to answer questions and discuss next steps.

The Picton Master Servicing Plan will help the municipality come up with strategies to support the planned developments and future growth within the urban boundary. Between 2025 and 2032, 3,244 housing units are expected to be built in Picton, with another 2,714 housing units between 2033 and 2043. The recently completed Regional Water Supply Servicing Master Plan identified the preferred alternative of connecting Picton/Bloomfield to the Wellington Drinking Water System and obtaining full servicing capacity from a new regional water treatment plant in Wellington. This preferred alternative has been incorporated into the Picton Master Servicing Plan.
