The Bloomfield Main Street rehabilitation project began on Monday, March 30.
Over the past few days, the contractor, Drew Harrison Haulage Ltd., has begun mobilizing its equipment and materials to the site. In addition, the contractor has installed signage near five intersections to inform the public that all businesses remain open during the project.
Other construction activities that took place include:
- Identifying existing utility locates
- Marking sections of sidewalk and curb to be removed
- Saw cutting asphalt in preparation for storm sewer replacements
- Removing sections of curb, sidewalk and storm sewer near the Corey Street intersection
No work is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 2, due to the Easter holiday.
The following work is scheduled to take place from April 6 – 10:
- Finalize installation of construction signage
- Continue marking sections of sidewalk and curb to be replaced
- Continue curb and sidewalk removals from the Corey Street area to the west
- Continue storm sewer replacements between Corey Street and Stanley Street
Single lane closures in the active work zone will continue.
Driveways may be temporarily blocked during work. The contractor will provide advance notification to residents and businesses directly impacted by temporary driveway blockages.
The municipality will provide weekly updates every Friday throughout the project. Visit the County website and sign up to receive these updates in your inbox.
The municipality is resurfacing Bloomfield Main Street from Corey Street to Wellington Street in 2026. The project will also include line painting, storm sewer repairs, and concrete curb and sidewalk repairs. Learn more about the project.
