Municipal Offices Closed: Thanksgiving

The County of Prince Edward municipal offices will be closed on Monday, October 13 for Thanksgiving.

Offices will reopen on Tuesday, October 14 at 8:30 am.

Garbage and recycling collection

• Curbside garbage, green bin, and recycling pickup service will occur according to the regular schedule.
• Environmental 360 Solutions reminds residents to have their garbage, green bin, and properly sorted blue boxes out to the curb by 7 am to ensure pickup.
• If your collection is missed on collection day, please call Environmental 360 Solutions at 1.866.358.3560.
• The municipality’s landfill and transfer stations will be open regular hours on Saturday, October 11. Visit the municipal website for more information.

Recreation Facilities

The Wellington and District Community Centre, the Prince Edward Community Centre and Community Halls will be closed on Monday, October 13.

The walking track at the Wellington and District Community Centre (WDCC) will reopen on Tuesday, October 14 at 7 am.

Reminder: The walking track at the WDCC is operating on its ice season schedule of 7 am – 9 pm daily (except during paid admission events).

Wellington and District Community Centre

• Public Skating: 8 am – 9 am*
• Ticket Ice: 9 am – 10 am
• Shinny: 10 am – 11 am

Prince Edward Community Centre

• Adult + Tot Skating: 9 am – 10 am*
• Public Skating: 10 am – 11 am*
• Ticket Ice: 3 pm – 4 pm
• Shinny: 4 pm – 5 pm*

The County Museums

The County Museums will have varying operational hours on Thanksgiving Weekend:

• Mariners Park Museum will be hosting a special event on Saturday, October 11 at 7 pm with South Shore Joint Initiative: South Shore Dark Sky – South Shore Joint Initiative
• The Scarecrow Festival will take place at Macaulay Heritage Park on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12 from 11 am – 4 pm. Macaulay Heritage Park will be closed Monday, October 13.
• Ameliasburgh Heritage Village and Wellington Heritage Museum will be open regular operating hours Saturday, October 11 from 1 pm – 4 pm. Both sites will be closed on Sunday and Monday.

County Transit

County Transit will not operate on Monday, October 13.
