Getting around The County in the summer might take a bit of planning, but we have some tips to help you get where you want to go (without getting a parking ticket!)
Check out the information below on County Transit services, taxis and ridesharing, the Millennium Trail, and parking.
County Transit
Commuting for work or school? Need to get to the train station? County Transit can get you there!
- 5x/day connection to Belleville, including VIA Rail, Belleville Transit and more
- On-request service to get you from anywhere in the County to the fixed route to Belleville
- Specialized service for people with disabilities and seniors (including visitors who are registered with a specialized service at home)
- Coming in 2025: Friday night, Saturday and Sunday service connecting Wellington, Bloomfield, Picton and Belleville!

Taxis and ridesharing
Taxis
All taxi drivers are required to be licenced by Prince Edward County’s By-Law department.

URide
On-demand ridesharing is available in Prince Edward County through Uride.
Download the Uride app from the App Store or Google Play Store and create an account to order a ride.
Guaranteed 2025 service hours:
- Thursday 12pm – 12am
- Friday and Saturday 8am-3am
- Sunday 8am-12am
Rides can be booked outside of these guaranteed hours, 24/7 with 6 hours advance notice.
They’ll pick you up at your preferred pickup location and deliver you to your destination safely. All drivers and vehicles are thoroughly vetted before joining Uride, with background checks, vehicle safety inspections, insurance requirements and a “one-strike policy” that requires drivers to adhere to strict codes of conduct.
Visit the Uride website to learn more about the service or to learn about how to become a driver. The County has partnered with Uride, providing funding through the Municipal Accommodations Tax to ensure drivers earn a living wage while the service is being piloted in Prince Edward County.
Active transportation
Millennium Trail
The County boasts an impressive 46-kilometre linear park that connects the County from Picton to Carrying Place. The Millennium Trail is perfect for walking, biking, e-biking, cross-country skiing and even horseback riding to get you where you need to go. Payment is required to park in the following municipal parking areas as signed:
- Sections of Picton Main Street and adjacent streets
- Market Lane Parking Lot (Picton)
- Municipal Boat Launches

All County-managed parking will be administered through Passport Parking Canada, including Picton Main Street, Market Lane parking lot in Picton and the boat launches throughout The County.

In Town:
Parking in town can be paid with coins, credit card and non-PIN debit cards.
Parking zone numbers for Picton in-town parking are:
- On-street parking: 3221
- Off-street parking: 3222 (Market Lane parking lot)
Boat Launches:
Between May 1 to October 31, payment is required to park at municipal boat launches. Parking at the boat launches is handled through the Passport Parking Canada App (no machines on site). This includes day use and seasonal passes. You can get more information about boat launches and how to buy passes in advance online or in person here.

In Picton, the County offers free parking in municipal lots at 55 King Street and on Mary Street.
In Wellington, parking is free for up to two hours on sections of Wellington Main Street and on some side streets in the downtown core.
Parking is free at C.M.L. Snider School in Wellington (entrance to parking lot off Oak Street) from July 1 – August 31. This initiative is the result of a partnership between the municipality and the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board. The lot will be managed by the municipality and be available for free public parking from 7 am to 10 pm, seven days a week. No permit is required to park in the lot and there is no maximum within those hours. No overnight parking or camping is allowed. Municipal by-law officers will enforce these regulations.
In Bloomfield, parking is free along Bloomfield Main Street for a maximum stay of two hours. Parking restrictions are regularly enforced.
You can pay your parking ticket online. You may also mail a cheque, drop a cheque or pay in person at the municipal offices at the Shire Hall, 332 Picton Main Street, Picton, ON K0K 2T0.
Cheques should be made payable to the “Corporation of the County of Prince Edward”
You may also dispute a parking ticket through the Administrative Money Penalty System.
RVs can only be parked overnight in official campgrounds. Many campgrounds are listed on the Visit The County website.
You may park your own RV on your own property.
The “Use of County Parks and Recreation Areas By-Law” (By-Law 78-2021) prohibits camping of any kind in County parks, beaches, and recreation areas.
The by-law also prohibits persons from charging or inviting the public for camping on private property that is not zoned for such use.
Seasonal No-Parking Zones
Seasonal no-parking zones are located at areas where roadside parking creates safety and trespassing concerns during the summer months, including parts of:
- Bakker Road (Hillier)
- Huyck’s Point Road (Hillier)
- Stinson Block (Hillier)
- Arthur Road (Hillier)
- County Road 27 (near North Beach Provincial Park)
- Winn’s Drive (Sheba’s Island)
- County Road 18 (near Sandbanks Provincial Park)
- County Road 12 and Lakeshore Lodge Road (near Sandbanks Provincial Park)
- Salmon Point Road (Athol)
- Little Bluff Conservation Area (South Marysburgh)
- Lake on the Mountain (North Marysburgh)
Drivers must look for and obey the parking signage on these roads. Specific details of the seasonal parking restrictions are available in the municipal parking by-law. Seasonal no-parking zones are enforced 7 days/week from May to October (with the exception of County Road 27, which is enforced during the North Beach Provincial Park operating season from June 7 – October 5, 2025).
Parking fines for parking in a Seasonal No Parking Zone are maximum $400 in areas adjacent to Sandbanks Provincial Park and North Beach Provincial Park. Maximum $100 in all other seasonal no-parking zones.
