The County of Prince Edward will undertake micro surfacing applications on various roads beginning on Tuesday, May 26.
The work, which will be completed by the County’s contractor Miller Paving Limited, is anticipated to be completed by Friday, May 29, weather dependent.
The following roads will be affected:
- County Road 14 (Highway 62 to 1435 County Road 14)
- County Road 33 (Partridge Hollow Road to 19931 County Road 33)
Micro surfacing is a preventative pavement maintenance treatment that helps extend the service life of asphalt roadways. The treatment seals the road surface to reduce water infiltration into the road base, restores a safe wearing surface, and improves skid resistance through a renewed textured surface.
The process involves a specialized machine that mixes emulsified asphalt, aggregate, filler, water, and additives, which are then applied over the existing asphalt surface. Following a short curing period, the roadway is reopened to traffic.
Permanent pavement markings will be reinstated by the contractor following completion of the micro surfacing work.
This micro surfacing work is part of the County’s 2026 Rural Road Program.
