The County of Prince Edward is providing the following update on the major structural rehabilitation of County Road 49:
- This past week, crews focused on gravel shoulder preparation, roadside ditching, and driveway culvert replacements along the corridor.
- During the week of November 9 – 13, the contractor is scheduled to begin placing the second lift of asphalt. Paving will start at the north end of County Road 49 and progress south as work advances.
- Crews will also continue preparing the gravel shoulders for paving. Once complete, the second and third lifts of asphalt will create 2.0-metre (6.5-foot) paved shoulders along the corridor.
Motorists should expect construction activity throughout the work zone. Please obey posted signage and follow the direction of traffic control personnel when travelling through the area.
