Updates following October 15 Planning and Development Committee Meeting

County Council considered the final draft of the Comprehensive Zoning By-law at the October 15 Planning and Development Meeting. Click here to view the recording of that meeting.

Based on the feedback from Council and members of the public at the October 15 meeting, staff made several changes to the final documents that Council will consider adopting on November 10. Those changes include:

  • Conversion of Local Commercial (LC) Zones on County Road 29 in Consecon to General Commercial (GC) Zones to permit a broader range of commercial uses.
  • Correction of various typos (addresses, missing zone labels, incorrect schedule shading).
  • Adding Art Gallery to uses permitted in the General Commercial (GC) Zone.
  • Removing townhouses as a permitted use in the General Commercial (GC) Zone.
  • Clarification that structures are permitted within 30m of an Environmental Protection (EP) Zone where permitted by Quinte Conservation.
  • Revise the Special Rural Industrial (MR-33) Zone to permit an Agricultural Processing Facility rather than mushroom processing establishment.
  • Correction of existing special zones associated with Port Picton Homes property.
  • Permitting the parking of recreational vehicles in the Rural Residential (RR) Zone.
  • Correction of the Rural Residential (RR) Zone setback requirements.
  • Permitting an outdoor furnace in the Rural Residential (RR) Zone.
  • Clarification that small scale solar panel systems are permitted in the Rural (RU) Zone in addition to the Agricultural (AG) Zone.
