As summer gets underway, County Transit is rolling out a few updates to help keep you and your family moving throughout the County!
County Transit’s Summer Weekend Connector buses return for 2026 with expanded service, running Fridays through Sundays from July 3 to October 18. The enhanced route will connect Wellington (including Wellington on the Lake), Bloomfield, Picton (including the Heights/Base31) and Belleville, with many stops between. Two buses run on two routes with convenient transfers in Bloomfield, making it easier than ever to travel across the County without a car.
This year’s extended summer season is made possible through the municipality’s Municipal Accommodations Tax revenue. The program is also thankful for the increased support from the Lead Community Investment Partner Base31, and local sponsors including the Eddie Hotel & Farm, Huff Estates, The Lakeside, the Royal Hotel, and the Waring House. With these partnerships, service will continue through the Picton Fair and into the shoulder season, including Wellington’s Pumpkinfest weekend on October 18.
Expanded funding also supports service to and from the Drill Hall concert series at Base31, helping eventgoers travel until late, safely and conveniently. This investment also enables expanded service overall, including many new stops.
Beginning July 3, students with a valid ID can ride free on all County Transit services. The program was approved by Council earlier this spring and is sponsored by Prinzen Ford.
In addition, year-round weekday service between Belleville and Picton will increase from five to six round trips starting Monday, July 6, with three trips in the morning and three in the afternoon and evening.

More service, more connections, and more ways to travel car-free.
