The large-item swap event, which was postponed due to rain, has now been rescheduled for Saturday, May 20 to encourage people to re-use items instead of throwing them out.
Residents can place their lightly used large items at the curb for other residents to take and continue to use. Large items could include furniture, electronics, tools, etc.
To reduce travel on rural roads, residents in rural areas can post their items and location on the Facebook event page for people to peruse. Those living in the settlement areas are also welcome to use the site.
Items must be removed the next day. The event will be weather dependent and will be cancelled in the event of rain.

The large-item swap, which was postponed on April 29 due to rain, was included as part of Earth Day celebrations last month. Earth Day began in 1970 to raise awareness of environmental action. Today, countries around the world take part in events that showcase what organizations are doing to address various environmental issues. Visit the County’s sustainability hub to learn more about the activities that took place around Earth Day.
