Walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics will take place at the Prince Edward Community Centre (PECC, 375 Picton Main Street) on the following dates:
- Tuesday May 17 – 12 noon – 6pm
People aged 5 and over who are eligible for their first, second, third, or fourth dose of the vaccine can come to the Picton vaccine clinic. Fourth doses are available if your last dose was at least 5 months (140 days) ago, or 3 months (84 days) ago with informed consent. Fourth doses are available to individuals who are 60+ years old OR are First Nations, Inuit or Métis, OR are immunocompromised.
If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, you should speak to a healthcare provider about the optimal timing for your next dose. If you do not have access to a provider, the healthcare professionals at the Picton vaccine clinic are available to discuss with you.

Research from around the world has shown the importance of getting three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Three doses are better than two doses at:
- Protecting you from getting COVID
- Stopping you from spreading COVID
- Protecting you from getting so sick from COVID that you have to go to hospital
- Decrease your risk of dying from COVID. To date, 49 people in the Quinte region have died from COVID, and many continue to live with the ongoing effects of COVID infection.
Two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine do not work as well as three doses against Omicron, the dominant COVID variant. Protection from two doses starts to decrease around three months. To provide an extra layer of protection against the Omicron and BA.2 variants, the Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, has expanded eligibility for fourth doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to individuals aged 60 and over as well as First Nation, Inuit and Métis individuals and their non-Indigenous household members aged 18 and over.
