Picton Main Street Reconstruction - Phase 3
Overview:
The County of Prince Edward is completing phase three of the Picton Main Street road reconstruction project, from #454 County Road 49 to Folkard Lane. The project began in October 2025. The work is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The project will include:
- Replacing sanitary sewers, watermains, and storm sewers
- Installation of new roadway, curbs, sidewalk and street lighting
Work in Phase 3 will be completed in two parts, with no work taking place during the winter months:
- In the Fall of 2025, work will include sanitary and storm sewer work on the west side of the road, northerly up to Fawcett Avenue.
- The second part, which will be completed in 2026, will include the completion of the remainder of the sewers and the full length of all watermain, road, sidewalk, and lighting.
Project Update December 2025:
RW Tomlinson Limited has concluded work on Phase 3 of the Picton Main Street reconstruction project for 2025.
The road has returned to two-lane traffic with no signals as of Friday, December 12.
This past fall, work crews completed the sanitary and storm sewer work on the west side of the road from #454 County Road 49 to Fawcett Avenue. A single layer of temporary asphalt was placed to allow the municipality to reopen the road during the winter months. The surface will be maintained throughout the winter. A new roadway will be installed when the entire project is completed.

Construction

Spring/Summer 2026: Completion of the remainder of the sewers and the full length of all watermain, road, sidewalk, and lighting. No work on this project will occur during the winter months.
Project Details:
Jp2g (Formerly Greer Galloway) has finalized the detailed design of the project, a tender was advertised and closed on June 20, 2025. Staff are preparing a report to present to Council for award of the project.
Public Information Centre:
A public information centre (PIC) for this project took place on Tuesday, July 15.
At the PIC, the municipality:
- Presented and reviewed the detailed designs for the project
- Provided local residents with more information about potential impacts of the project
- Gathered input from residents about the project
