Financial Supports
- Municipal Financial Relief Grant – tax or water bill credits for low-income households. (Administered by The County Foundation on behalf of the municipality)
- Help with Payments – a listing of community-based financial supports
Health and Safety Supports
- H.J. McFarland Memorial Home – an accredited, non-profit, long-term-care facility operated by the Corporation of the County of Prince Edward and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
- Home safety inspections – The Fire Prevention and Education Division offers several types of safety inspections to homeowners and residents. Contact Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue at (613) 476-2345 for more information.
- Community Safety and Well-being Plan – A community-led plan for supporting priorities for community safety and well-being. Senior’s Support is one of five priorities in the plan.
Getting Around
- County Transit – provides specialized on-demand transit service for seniors 55+ and people living with disabilities.
County Transit is also offering seniors a free bus ride to and from the following events in November and December 2023:- The Senior’s Active Living Fair on November 2
- The Maker’s Hand on November 10 and 11
- Remembrance Day ceremonies in Consecon, Wellington and Picton on November 11
- Outsmarting the Scammers at Athol Town Hall on November 15
- Festival of Trees on December 1 and 2
- Busy Hands Holiday Market on December 9 and 10.

- Accessibility Advisory Committee – provides advice to Council on identifying, proactively preventing and eliminating barriers to people with disabilities in municipal programs, services, public spaces and facilities
Recreation and Volunteer Opportunities
- Wellington and District Community Centre – Indoor walking track open 7 days/week. Free, safe and easy to access at 111 Belleville Road, Wellington.
- Recreation Ward Committees – The municipal Recreation Ward Committees develop, coordinate and support recreation programs and activities in the local communities in all wards in the County. Programming is for all ages, with many activities designed for seniors’ inclusion:
